Job summary

Fairlane Senior Care & Rehab in Detroit, MI is seeking an Experienced Cook to join our award-winning team. You will prepare nourishing meals for residents, coordinate with the Dietary Director, and ensure portions, sanitation, and policy compliance are met.

We offer a NEW rate of $17.85 per hour with starting wages $17.00, hero pay and yearly increases. Full-time and part-time roles available, with mornings and afternoons shifts and no late nights.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of related food experience, preferably with supervisory exposure.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals following all necessary guidelines and regulations.
• Coordinate food production to align with meal serving times and maintain quality, temperature and presentation.
• Assist with tray line setup and plate assembly.
• Assist with daily kitchen cleaning requirements.
• Promote hospitality and outstanding customer service in every interaction with guests and families.

We can work with your scheduling needs:

• All positions include rotating weekends and some holidays
• Full Time and Part Time positions available
• Mornings and Afternoon shifts

How you will help people every day:

• You will prepare meals following all necessary guidelines and regulations
• You will coordinate food production to coincide with meal serving times ensuring excellence in quality, temperature and appearance are achieved
• You may assist with tray line setup and plate assembly
• You will assist with daily cleaning requirements in the kitchen

What you will need to be part of ourEPICteam:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Computer Skills
• At least 2 years of related food experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility, with strong knowledge of food procedures. Experience in a Long Term Care facility is highly desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to delivering Excellent, Passionate, Innovative care!
• You are a team player, dedicated to doing what it takes to support your team members and get the job done.
