Job summary

Downstream Casino Resort is seeking a Kitchen Prep/Line Cook to support food quality and service in a fast-paced casino environment. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, chopping vegetables, following prep lists, and operating kitchen equipment.

The role requires working nights, weekends and holidays, a professional appearance, and strong English communication while upholding all company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent elevated level of food quality and service.
• Keep back of house areas clean and organized.
• Chop vegetables, store food properly, and use kitchen equipment.
• Read and follow prep lists accurately.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean before use.
• Communicate respectfully with coworkers and follow supervisor directions.
• Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to policies.
• Follow regulatory and company policies ethically.
• Attend training meetings and assist on other projects as needed.
• Hours are set by a 24-hour schedule, including nights/weekends.
• Background check and drug screening required; gaming license may be needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a consistent elevated level of food quality and service.
Maintain cleanliness of all back of the house area.
Completing simple tasks such chopping vegetables, storing food correctly and utilizing kitchen equipment.
Must be able to read and follow prep lists.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is clean before use.
Communicate with co-workers respectfully and follow directions from superiors.
Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.
Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner.

Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner always. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
Attends all necessary training meetings.
Assist in other projects, as directed.

Must have the physical ability to work in extreme weather as well as the ability to lift 50 lbs., to squat, stand or bend repeatedly.
Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
