Job summary

Downstream Casino Resort in Quapaw, OK is seeking an Environmental Services (EVS) attendant to clean casino floors, public areas, and banquet spaces on an assigned shift. You will support supervision, maintain sanitation standards, and communicate professionally with staff and patrons.

Responsibilities include following checklists, monitoring inventory, and assisting in EVS staff instruction. Requires excellent communication, English fluency, and at least 1 year in environmental services.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year in environmental services; supervisory experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists management is the operations of EVS include: the cleaning of the casino, public access areas and catering/banquet rooms on an assigned shift.
  • Assist with instruction and training of EVS staff.
  • Maintain exceedingly high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Monitor areas to ensure proper appearance of facilities is maintained through use of checklists and visual inspections.
  • Monitor inventory/supplies and recommend purchase of supplies to supervisor.
  • Perform EVS duties along with staff as deemed necessary.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner always. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
  • Assist in other projects, as required.
  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and managers.
  • Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.
  • Shall be responsible to maintain absolute confidentiality and integrity with all written and oral information regarding tribal and casino operations, management, and staff.
  • Maintain inventory of department office supplies and requisition items on a weekly basis or when needed.
  • Answer phone calls. Take detailed and accurate messages and take initiative to solve problems or provide requested information.
  • Shall assist the department managers and supervisors as needed.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Assist in other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Outstanding example of and a credit to Downstream Casino Resort.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in the field of environmental services.
  • Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be familiar with proper use of all cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Proficient computer skills preferred.

  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.

  • Adequate manual dexterity to operate cleaning equipment.
  • Occasionally lifts/moves over 25 pounds of cleaning equipment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Employees must work with cleaning chemicals, and must be able to properly dilute, use and insure their safety, as well as other who come in contact with chemicals.
  • Occasional travel is required.
  • Must be able to climb and descend ladders.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
Other
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid non-gaming license.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
