Job summary

Loews Philadelphia Hotel is hiring for a line cook to join our in-house culinary team. You will prepare, plate, and present dishes in a fast-paced hotel kitchen, following standardized recipes and portion controls.

The role requires you to maintain cleanliness, uphold sanitation standards, and work closely with front-of-house and other culinary staff. You will operate in a professional environment that serves guests with a commitment to quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Culinary training/certification as Cook from a recognized school.
• Thorough knowledge of food service sanitation standards.
• Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment and its use.
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Set up and organize work area with supplies and equipment.
• Receive, inspect, and rotate food products for freshness and quality.
• Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
• Ensure food is prepared and plated according to standards and served promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisor.
• Support with closing duties and end-of-shift side work.
