Job summary

Food For Thought in Schaumburg, IL is seeking a Cook II to join our kitchen team. You will prepare menu items according to FFT standards, assist with opening and closing tasks, and maintain a clean, organized station.

This role requires at least 2 years in culinary and prep, ability to read menus, knife skills, recipe math, and a valid Food Handler or Food Service Manager certificate. Hours are Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in culinary and prep kitchen roles.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to review menus and prep lists.
• Knife skills and fundamentals of cooking, equipment operation, safety, sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items according to recipes, portions, and procedures.
• Check and control proper storage of products and portions.
• Ensure equipment areas are clean and in good working condition.
• Select high-quality food items for preparation.
• Assist with inventory as needed.
• Label/store items properly and communicate as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
