Job summary

Food For Thought in Northbrook, IL, is looking for a Cook II to join our kitchen team. This full-time position runs Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with duties including preparing menu items, following recipes, and maintaining a clean station in line with FFT standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in culinary and prep kitchen positions.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Knife skills and fundamentals of cooking, kitchen equipment operation, safety and sanitation.
• Must provide valid Food Handler or Food Service Manager Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items according to established recipes, portions, and procedures.
• Check and control the proper storage of product and portion control.
• Ensure all equipment in working areas is clean and in proper working condition.
• Visually inspect, select, and use only high-quality food items.
• Assist with producing accurate inventory.
• Label items properly and communicate clearly with the team.
• Other duties as assigned.
