Job summary

Bluestar Resort & Golf is seeking a Cook 2 for Trilogy at The Polo Club in Indio, CA. You will prepare and cook menu items, read recipes, and maintain a sanitary kitchen. The role requires at least two years in a commercial kitchen, a current Food Handlers card, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of two years’ cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Current Food Handlers card.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.
• Ability to think and make independent decisions with sound judgment.
• Must demonstrate initiative, be self-motivated and a team player.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Master one kitchen station and take responsibility for personal decisions.
• Maintain superior service standards for guests and staff.
• Proactively resolve guest or employee issues as needed.
• Follow cleaning schedule to keep a sanitary kitchen.
• Read recipes and assist in prep, cooking, and plating; read instructions.
• Prep vegetables, meats, sauces, soups, and desserts per recipes.
• Cook with ovens, broilers, grills, and kettles; monitor temperatures.
• Carve, portion, garnish, and complete orders as served.
• Other duties as assigned.
