Job summary

BlueStar Resort & Golf’s Trilogy Lake Norman Twin Mills Club in Huntersville, NC is seeking a Cook 2 to join the Food & Beverage team. You will prepare, cook, and serve meals, reporting to the Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef.

Requirements include at least two years of cooking in a commercial kitchen, a current Food Handler’s card, and the ability to handle fast-paced work while maintaining quality and guest satisfaction. Evening and weekend shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Two years’ cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Current Food Handler's Card.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.
• Ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.
• Must demonstrate initiative and accept responsibility for decisions and actions.
• Must be self-motivated, proactive, and a team player.
• Must be able to pay attention to multiple details and work in a fast-paced environment with continuous improvement.
• Flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Master one kitchen station; take responsibility for personal decisions and actions.
• Ensure superior service standards for guests and staff.
• Be proactive in exceeding guest satisfaction and resolve challenges.
• Follow cleaning schedule and maintain sanitary kitchen environment.
• Read and apply cooking instructions; read recipes accurately.
• Prepare vegetables and fruits; measure and mix ingredients per recipe.
• Cook and prepare meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods; adjust oven/grill temperatures.
• Taste, smell, and observe foods being cooked to ensure quality.
• Carve meats and plate servings with gravies and garnishes; handle other duties as assigned.
