Job summary

Bluestar Resort & Golf in Northern California seeks a Cook 2 to join Trilogy Bickford: The Ridge Wellness Social Club. The role centers on food preparation, cooking, and service as part of the Food & Beverage team, reporting to the Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of commercial kitchen cooking experience, a valid Food Handlers card, strong reading and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evening and weekend

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years’ cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Current Food Handlers card required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.
• Think, work, solve problems, and make independent decisions with sound judgment.
• Must demonstrate initiative and accept responsibility for decisions and actions.
• Must be self-motivated, proactive, and a team player.
• Must pay attention to multiple details in a fast-paced environment; evenings and weekends required.

Responsibilities

• Master one kitchen station and take responsibility for personal decisions and actions.
• Ensure superior service standards for guests and staff.
• Proactively address guest or staff concerns and resolve issues.
• Follow daily cleaning schedule to maintain a clean, sanitary environment.
• Read, understand, and execute cooking instructions.
• Prepare vegetables and fruits, measure ingredients, and prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, and casseroles.
• Cook and heat meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods; adjust oven and equipment temperatures.
• Taste, smell, and observe foods to ensure quality.
• Carve meats, portion plates, add gravies and sauces, and garnish as needed.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
