Position: Dietary Cook - Full Time

This position offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Schedule: Rotating hours from 5:30am to 6:30pm. The facility operates 24/7/365. Must work every third weekend.

Responsibilities

The Cook will prepare healthy and appealing food for residents, staff, and guests, following the menu plan and maintaining high standards of service excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals according to the menu, ensuring proper preparation, portioning, and sanitation.
  • Handle all foods properly to prevent contamination, control costs, and ensure quality.
  • Set up food service line and workstations with condiments and garnishes.
  • Assist in preparing the next day’s menu.
  • Maintain cleanliness of stock room, coolers, freezers, and food storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
  • Follow health department codes and departmental procedures to keep the kitchen clean and food safe.
  • Minimize food waste through proper storage and recycling techniques.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, steamers, fryers, grills, mixers, dishwashers, and microwaves.
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old at hire.
  • Ability to meet all training requirements.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Previous cooking experience required; hospital or cafeteria experience is a plus.
  • Supportive attitude aligned with facility goals.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read and write.
