Job summary

Island Hospitality Management is seeking a Cook to join our team, bringing culinary skills to delight guests with presentation, preparation, and cooking.

You will follow brand and IHM recipes, keep the kitchen stocked, prepare and plate all menu items, and maintain cleanliness and safety.

The role may require flexible scheduling to meet guest needs. Experience in a hotel kitchen is preferred and this position offers a dynamic environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Understand local health and safety codes applicable to hotels.
• Maintain well-stocked kitchen to meet service needs.
• Receive and process food and beverage orders as needed.
• Follow brand and Island Hospitality Management recipes.
• Prepare and plate all menu items.
• Operate ovens, stoves, microwaves and other hot prep equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitization of work areas after service.

Job Requirements

• Know local health and safety codes and regulations that apply to the hotel
• Ensuring the kitchen remains well-stocked at all times
• Receiving food and beverage orders as needed
• Follow provided brand and IHM recipes when cooking food to serve guests
• Preparing and plating all food items on the menu
• Using hot food preparation machines such as ovens, stoves, and microwaves to cook or heat food
• Cleaning and sanitizing tables, countertops, and floors after each service

Job Qualifications

• Ability to follow brand and IHM standard operating procedures to prepare food and beverage items
• Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
• Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
• Ability to work well in stressful situations
• Basic knowledge of how to operate all Food and Beverage equipment
