Job summary

Island Hospitality Management in San Diego is seeking a Breakfast Attendant/Cook responsible for the hotel's breakfast service, ensuring guest satisfaction and product quality standards are met. You will prepare and serve food and beverage in the breakfast area and banquet events.

This role requires early morning availability with both part-time and full-time options. You will maintain cleanliness, stock items, assist with inventory, and ensure safety and courtesy in all guest interactions.

Responsibilities

• Cook and assemble the breakfast service before mealtime and disassemble it thereafter.

• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Set up and service banquet areas and coffee breaks as required.
• Provide friendly, courteous guest service at all times.
• Stand and move for extended periods; lift up to 25 pounds.

Description

We are currently seeking an extraordinary Breakfast Attendant/Cook, you are responsible for the overall success of the Hotel's breakfast service, ensuring guest satisfaction and product quality standards are met. The role of the Breakfast Attendant/Cook is to be a key person of reference for guests while preparing and serving food and beverage products in the hotel breakfast or banquet area. You are responsible for ensuring everything is set up to standard and set out in a timely fashion.

This position requires flexible scheduling availability with early morning availability. Part-time and Full-Time opportunities available

Requirements

• Cooking and assembling the breakfast service before mealtime and disassembling it thereafter
• Ensuring breakfast items are replenished and available to guests during breakfast hours according to standard
• Maintain cleanliness of entire breakfast area including equipment during and after breakfast hours
• Wash dishes, clean kitchen and maintain daily temp logs
• Assist with inventory, ordering and receiving of all food and beverage items
• Follows all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Provide information and assistance to all guests and vendors
• Cleaning and sanitizing tables, countertops, and floors after each meal service
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests
• Be able to stand and move for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
• Assist in servicing Banquet area
• Set up all coffee breaks, food breaks, plates and utensils in accordance with event requirements and standards
• Ensuring a wonderful experience from beginning to end while maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed for banquet service
• Removing each round of dirty plates, and replenishing utensils
• Experience in banquet service, preferred not required

The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors.
