Job summary
Performance Team in Carteret, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve conveyor systems and material handling equipment in a warehouse environment.
You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, document findings, and support equipment reliability with Operations and other maintenance staff while adhering to OSHA and Lockout/Tagout safety rules.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience with conveyor systems and components listed in the qualifications.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and standard maintenance equipment.
- Basic computer skills to document work electronically.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical components including bearings, rollers, belts, chains, sprockets, motors, and gearboxes.
- Assist in troubleshooting basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Observe equipment operation and identify potential failures or performance issues.
- Document maintenance findings and report equipment concerns to leadership.
