Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on material handling equipment and facility systems in a warehouse environment.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and willingness to work overtime, including weekends and varying shifts. In this position, you will diagnose and repair mechanical issues on conveyors, forklifts, and related equipment, maintain records, and ensure parts availability.

Qualifications

• Must have command of basic manual hand tools, powered hand tools such as drills, grinders, and saws.
• Must possess knowledge of basic facility repairs including painting, minor plumbing, and lighting.
• Must also possess knowledge of spare parts procedures and inventory control.
• Ability to utilize and be certified in the operation of forklifts, powered pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Requires overtime work as necessary.
• Must be flexible to work any shift and/or weekends as scheduled.
• One to two years of progressive mechanical aptitude in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical inclination required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical material handling equipment, including conveyors and forklifts.
• Perform maintenance projects on conveyor systems, including installation and process changes.
• Perform emergency mechanical repairs to failed material handling systems.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs to facility equipment.
• Identify and locate required repair parts for failed systems.
• Maintain accurate record keeping such as work orders, time sheets, and parts requests.
