Job summary

Ross Stores Distribution Center seeks an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair material handling equipment, conveyors and forklift systems. You will perform preventative maintenance and emergency mechanical repairs, troubleshoot electrical controls, and manage parts and work orders with safety as a priority.

The role requires manual ability, lifting up to 50 lbs, overtime, and the flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, in a full-time in-office

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints or schematics.
• Knowledge of electrical motor control; 30–480V.
• 5–8 years progressive mechanical aptitude in distribution or manufacturing.
• Welding, soldering and cutting torch skills required.
• Accountability for assets: spare parts, tools and equipment.
• Experience with hand tools, drills, grinders, saws and multimeter.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on conveyors, sorters and forklifts.
• Troubleshoot electrical control systems and PLC interfaces.
• Perform maintenance on conveyors including installation and changes.
• Repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Identify and locate repair parts and manage work orders.
• Maintain safety and accurate record keeping.
