Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC in Charleston, SC, is seeking a Paint Shop Maintenance Engineer (Conveyor) to improve reliability and availability of production equipment. You will lead maintenance strategies, complex troubleshooting, and capital projects while coordinating with maintenance, production, engineering, contractors and suppliers.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in engineering and 5+ years in automotive environments, with hands-on experience in PLCs, 3D-CAD, and SAP/CMMS.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
5+ years of relevant automotive maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Develops best practices to improve equipment capacity, quality and reliability.
Repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment to ensure reliable operation.
Coordinate PM/TPM activities with third party contractors, vendors, or suppliers.
Develop planning standards for PM/TPM and containment for downtime.
Investigates complex problems and uses 8D for root cause resolution.
Ensure uptime, MTTR, MTBF, and OEE targets are met through continuous improvement.
Lead equipment upgrades and capital projects (> $5M).
Collaborate with maintenance, production and engineering across departments.
Train and mentor less experienced engineers and participate in team meetings.
Support budget planning and cost control initiatives.
