Job summary
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC, MBV Charleston, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to improve the reliability, performance, and availability of production equipment at the Charleston plant. You will develop maintenance strategies, lead troubleshooting and root-cause analyses, and manage capital projects from scoping to completion, collaborating with maintenance, production, engineering, contractors and suppliers.
The role emphasizes safety, quality, cost control, and continuous improvement to support
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 5+ years experience, automotive environment preferred.
- Experience with PLCs (OMRON, Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Hands-on experience with Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electrical, and computer-controlled systems.
- Experience with SAP/CMMS or equivalent maintenance systems.
Responsibilities
- Develops best practices to improve equipment capacity, quality and reliability.
- Repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment for reliable operation.
- Coordinate activities of third party contractors, vendors, or suppliers.
- Develop planning standards for PM/TPM processes and containment measures.
- Investigate problems and perform root-cause analysis using 8D process.
