Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for the Charleston, SC area to improve the reliability, performance and availability of production equipment. You will lead maintenance strategies, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvement with safety and quality in mind.

You will coordinate with maintenance, production, engineering and suppliers, manage projects over $5M, and implement new technologies to support business goals while controlling costs and energy use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in automotive environments.
• Hands-on experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and computer-controlled systems.
• Experience with SAP, CMMS or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills using 8D methodology.

Responsibilities

• Develops best practices to improve equipment capacity, quality and reliability.
• Repairs, adjusts and maintains production equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Coordinates activities of third-party contractors, vendors or suppliers for maintenance.
• Leads medium to large capital projects and evaluates equipment upgrades.
