Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC in Charleston, South Carolina is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to improve the reliability, performance and availability of production equipment. The role develops maintenance strategies, leads root cause analysis, and supports continuous improvement to reduce MTTR and MTBF while maintaining OEE and operating costs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering is required.
5+ years of relevant automotive environment experience preferred.
Experience with PLCs (Omron, Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and 3D-CAD tools.
Hands-on with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and computer-controlled systems.
Experience with SAP and CMMS systems; ability to manage projects and suppliers.

Responsibilities

Develops best practices to improve equipment capacity, quality and reliability.
Repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment for reliable operation and compliance with specs.
Coordinate activities of third party contractors, vendors, or suppliers in maintenance.
Develop PM/TPM standards and robust containment measures for downtime.
Investigate problems, perform root-cause analysis and use 8D process for sustainable quality.
Lead equipment upgrades and capital projects; manage scope and deliverables.
