Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Convention Services Manager to lead planning and execution of meetings, conventions, and special events booked through the sales team. You will align group needs with hotel operations to deliver exceptional events and guest experiences.

Ideal candidates will have a passion for building teams, a guest-focused mindset, and experience coordinating F&B, space, and staff to exceed client expectations.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
• Extensive knowledge of hotel and hospitality industry.
• Delphi and Opera PMS experience a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate meetings, conventions and other events booked through the sales department.
• Synchronize needs of the group contact planning the event with hotel staff to execute the event function.
• Negotiate food and beverage prices, function space, and hotel services within guidelines.
• Plan and attend Pre and Post convention meetings.
• Manage function space and room block inventory and ensure BEO paperwork is accurate.
• Build relationships with meeting planners and promote hotel services to drive business.
• Work with other hotel departments to coordinate functions and meet client needs.
