Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Glassboro, NJ, is hiring a Controls Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize plant-wide electrical, automation and process control systems on high-speed food production lines.

You will provide technical leadership and training to Electro-Mechanics across shifts, oversee maintenance programs, and ensure GMP and safety standards are followed to maximize uptime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with extensive industrial controls, automation, or electrical maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of machine layouts, control drawings, P&IDs, system interconnection drawings, and distributed control systems.
• Proficiency with Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Siemens, and Mitsubishi programming, configuration, and troubleshooting software.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, work orders, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Nice to Have Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize plant electrical, automation, and process control systems to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical and controls-related equipment failures.
• Train and coordinate Electro-Mechanics across all shifts.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for PLCs, drives, networks, and production equipment.
• Maintain electrical schematics, control programs, system configurations, and equipment documentation.
• Support plant utility systems including steam, refrigeration, HVAC, compressed air, water, and power distribution.
• Follow GMP, safety, quality, and regulatory standards and drive continuous improvement.
