Job summary

Critical Systems LLC in Rockville, MD is seeking a Controls Sales Engineer to drive revenue and margins by selling building automation HVAC systems and delivering exceptional customer service. You will identify solutions that meet environmental and operational goals for clients.

You will prospect, build relationships, coordinate with operations, and negotiate contracts to close profitable deals while staying current on industry trends and incentives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of three years' experience in HVAC controls sales, engineering, or marketing.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver measurable results.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, control systems, building automation, and energy management.

Responsibilities

• Prospecting and relationship building with new clients including building owners, end-users, engineers and contractors.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of Critical Systems' offerings and industry trends.
• Account management ensuring quality pre-sale and post-sale support.
• Develop sales plans, needs assessments, proposals, estimates, and presentations.
• Collaborate with equipment sales groups in a team-selling environment.
• Engage with clients to understand project goals and conduct site surveys.
• Prepare and deliver proposals, negotiate pricing, and establish contract terms.
• Coordinate project information with operations and site reviews.
• Leverage local utility incentives and rebates to improve margins.
• Follow up with key decision-makers to secure orders and satisfaction.
• Pursue professional development through events and continuous learning.
