Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Engineering Support Controls and Instrumentation Technician to contribute to the design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of control systems across multiple facilities worldwide.

You will work with highly skilled software programmers and controls engineers on projects from concept through on-site commissioning, requiring strong teamwork and hands-on fabrication expertise.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required due to federal requirements.
• Two years of instrumentation experience or two years of technical training.
• Ability to learn wiring diagrams and controls within 90 days.
• Experience with Windows-based PCs.
• Ability to read electrical controls and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware assembly and fabrication of designed systems.
• Order control system components based on engineering requirements.
• Order instrumentation and sensors based on user or application requirements.
• Perform time and cost estimates of fabrication work.
• Review hardware assembly and wiring diagrams for control and data acquisition.
• Troubleshoot control system software in PLC ladder logic, function block, etc., if needed.
