Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Early Career Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to join the Advanced Solutions Group. You will design, develop, and commission control systems, including hardware wiring, PLC programming, and HMI development for diverse facilities. Domestic and international field work may be required.

The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and willingness to learn from experienced engineers. ABET-accredited degree and 0–5 years of related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required to comply with government customer requirements.
• BS in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, or related engineering field from ABET-accredited program.
• 0–5 years of experience in control or data acquisition system design, implementation, and commissioning.
• Able to work on multi-discipline teams and learn from senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop hardware assembly and wiring diagrams for SCADA systems.
• Develop control system software designs and PLC/HMI programs.
• Interface with facility equipment using MODBUS TCP, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, etc.
• Apply closed-loop controls methods to CVCS and related systems.
• Support hardware assembly, panel testing, and on-site commissioning.
• Communicate project status with clients and management.
