Job summary
Amentum’s Advanced Solutions Group seeks a Senior Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to join our team in Tullahoma, TN or Farmington Hills, MI. You will lead design, integration, and commissioning of control systems for high-profile defense, automotive, and energy projects.
The role requires hands-on PLC/HMI development, hardware wiring, on-site commissioning, and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams to meet schedule, budget, and performance goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics or related engineering field from ABET-accredited program.
- Minimum 8 years in control or data acquisition system design, implementation, and commissioning.
- Experience with PLC/HMI development in major environments; Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson knowledge.
- Experience selecting and procuring process instrumentation and control hardware.
Responsibilities
- Develop hardware assembly and wiring diagrams for SCADA systems.
- Develop control system software designs and PLC/HMI development.
- Interface with facility equipment using industry protocols (MODBUS TCP, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP).
- Lead multi-discipline engineering teams to deliver complex control and data systems.
- Provide on-site commissioning and startup support, domestically and abroad.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to meet scope, budget, and schedule.
