Wunderlich-Malec Engineering in Asheboro, NC, is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and implement control systems across manufacturing and data-center projects. You will lead design reviews, develop wiring schematics, and support on-site startup.

The role requires a BS in Engineering, 3–10 years of experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens), SCADA (Rockwell, Inductive Automation, AVEVA Wonderware), instrumentation, and panel design.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required; ElectricalEngineering preferred.
• 3–10 years of experience in control systems, PLC programming, instrumentation.
• Experience with SCADA systems (Rockwell, Inductive Automation, AVEVA Wonderware).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for control panel layouts.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.
• Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and implements control systems (logic software and hardware) to meet process requirements.
• Develops schematics detailing control system configuration and wiring, and panel layouts on AutoCAD.
• Lead design reviews with customers for review and approval of design documents.
• Work on-site to perform system checkout and start-up of the integrated control system.
• Develop final documentation and provide customer training.
• Act as technical lead on projects and guide lower-level engineers and technicians; manage smaller projects ($50K–$250K) from planning to changes.
