Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering in Asheboro, NC, seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to lead automation projects from requirements to commissioning. You will interact directly with customers, build specifications, select components, and lead a team of engineers and technicians to deliver robust control solutions.

The ideal candidate has extensive PLC/HMI/SCADA/DCS experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a track record of delivering projects profitably.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Control Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in controls engineering with PLC/HMI/SCADA/DCS experience.
• Experience with electrical schematics and 480VAC power concepts.
• Leadership of engineers/technicians and mentoring skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and collaborate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of automation solutions and standards.
• Develop control system architecture and select components.
• Program PLC, DCS, RTU and HMI/SCADA; document systems.
• Manage projects up to $1M; schedule, budgets and reporting.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers; interface with customers.
