Job summary

Design Group, part of Barry-Wehmiller, seeks a Controls Engineer to join our Control System Integration Practice in Indianapolis. You will design control systems, develop project documentation, and interface with clients and vendors to deliver high-quality automation solutions for manufacturing clients.

Join a team of experts, program Rockwell PLCs and HMIs, and lead project deliverables from design through start-up, with opportunities to travel for project requirements and industry events.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' direct experience as a controls engineer in automated manufacturing environments.
• Experience designing automation controls systems (PLC, SCADA).
• Understanding of UL508A panel design and fabrication.
• Understanding of instrumentation and controls (I&C).
• Experience with P&IDs and process flow diagrams.
• Willingness to travel for project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation solutions by designing control systems, creating project documentation and drawings.
• Interface with project teams, clients and vendors.
• Program PLCs (Rockwell) and HMIs (FactoryTalk, Cimplicity, Wonderware, Ignition).
• Communicate plan progress to project stakeholders.
• Manage project deliverables to budget, schedule and scope.
• Support site installation, checkout and start-up of automated manufacturing processes.
• Strengthen client relationships through day-to-day execution.
