Job summary
Barry-Wehmiller Design Group seeks a Controls Engineer to join our growing team in the US. You will work on capital projects, delivering control system designs, programming PLC/SCADA, and commissioning automated manufacturing lines.
You will collaborate with experienced professionals, apply Rockwell/Siemens platforms, and contribute to high‑quality, reliable equipment turnovers. A strong background in UL508A and instrumentation is preferred.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in control systems design and troubleshooting.
- Experience with automated processes and system integration in manufacturing.
- Strong instrumentation and control panel knowledge (UL508A).
- Ability to create engineering documentation (P&IDs, diagrams).
- Willingness to travel for install/startup activities.
Responsibilities
- Support capital projects and implement client automation solutions.
- Design automation controls and create project drawings and specs.
- Configure software/hardware packages per design specs.
- Program PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA with Ignition/AVEVA/FactoryTalk.
- Lead project deliverables and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Assist in site construction, commissioning, and turnover.
- Communicate progress to clients and teams.
