Job summary

Actalent seeks a skilled Controls Engineer to design, program, and commission industrial control systems for complex processes.

You will develop control panel layouts, PLC and HMI programs, and supporting documentation while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors, and contractors throughout design, construction, commissioning, and ongoing troubleshooting to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with automation systems and PLC programming for industrial applications.
• Experience with PLC hardware, software, and configuration (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley).
• Proficiency in HMIs and FactoryTalk environments.
• Strong electrical fundamentals and panel design knowledge.
• Networking fundamentals for industrial control systems.
• Proficient with MS Office for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design control panels for industrial processes.
• Develop I/O lists and wiring diagrams.
• Prepare construction packages and technical specifications.
• Create network diagrams for control systems.
• Program PLCs and HMIs to meet requirements.
• Perform engineering for sensing and control devices.
• Troubleshoot and improve control systems.
• Collaborate across disciplines.
• Coordinate with clients and vendors.
• Support field commissioning and start-up.
• Modify designs for new/existing installations.
• Provide technical support to stakeholders.
• Meet project timelines and budgets.
• Generate BOMs and electrical schematics.
