Job summary

Prime Controls is seeking an Automation Specialist I who can support PLC programming, HMI development and documentation for industrial systems. You will read diagrams, develop BOMs, IO lists, and requirements for control panels, then test and troubleshoot the PLC/HMI systems.

You will interact with customers, train users, and work with vendors to resolve issues while supporting continuous improvement in integration projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Computer or Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent industrial controls experience.
• 2 years of experience in architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) industry or similar field.
• 4 years of experience in AEC industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop BOMs, IO lists, and requirements for control panels.
• Develop PLC programs in Ladder, Function Block, and other languages.
• Develop HMI for operator interfaces.
• Create hardware and software test plans and write simulation logic for PLC and HMI.
• Test installed systems to verify functionality and correct operation.
• Troubleshoot startup issues caused by drawings, instrumentation or software changes.
• Train customers on system integration software and operation.
• Interface with software vendors to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with colleagues to address design problems and improvements.
