Job summary

Soap Creek Resources in the Atlanta area seeks a seasoned Controls Engineer to troubleshoot, program, and integrate equipment and automation systems in an Allen Bradley PLC environment. The role supports stamping, zinc die casting, plating/finishing and assembly processes.

The engineer collaborates across departments to drive safety, reliability, and uptime improvements, leading projects from initiation through completion with strong emphasis on documentation and FAT.

Qualifications

• Four years of technical education or degree, or two years of technical education in conjunction with related work experience and/or training.
• Prefer at least 5 years as a controls engineer, but will consider at least 2 years as a controls engineer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain effective working relationships with related departments to support operations.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting on production equipment from 24V to 480V circuits.
• Provide controls engineering expertise for projects including technical consultation, design, PLC/HMI programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Lead projects by coordinating activities, timelines, and requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports and documentation for controls activities, FAT, and energy/process optimization.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and OHSA standards.
