Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Controls Engineer II to support the design, development, testing, and implementation of control system software for industrial refrigeration and HVAC equipment in data centers and large facilities. You will join a collaborative engineering team, using MATLAB/Simulink and model-based design to create robust control solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Software or Systems Engineering; MS preferred.
• 4–6 years of controls/automation/embedded systems experience.
• Experience developing control algorithms and software using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Working knowledge of model-based design for embedded systems.
• Familiarity with control systems concepts, modeling, simulation, and data analysis.
• Experience supporting product development, validation testing, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and support control software for chillers and air handling units in data centers and large facilities.
• Develop reliable, maintainable code using MATLAB/Simulink and model-based design for embedded systems.
• Apply control theory fundamentals to develop robust control solutions and optimize performance.
• Analyze system and test data to support controller development and product validation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers throughout product development.
• Participate in lab and field testing to validate control performance and troubleshot issues.
• Support technical reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of controls processes.
