Job summary
Ashford Connex, LLC seeks a Controls Engineer II to own the full lifecycle of custom automation projects, from concept through on-site commissioning. You will design electrical systems, program PLCs, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet safety and performance standards.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in electrical/automation discipline.
- 5+ years designing and programming custom automation systems.
- Experience with NEC, NFPA 79, and RIA TR R15.06.
- Proficiency with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View).
- AutoCAD Electrical proficiency required.
- Robot experience with FANUC/ABB/Yaskawa/KUKA preferred.
- Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Design and program machine control software architectures.
- Integrate robotics, vision systems, VFDs, and servos.
- Configure network interfaces: DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet.
- Create electrical panels and BOMs in AutoCAD Electrical.
- Provide on-site startup, commissioning and client handover.
- Mentor junior controls engineers.
