Job summary

Johnson Controls in Minnesota is hiring an electrical installation technician to install and checkout a variety of building systems under supervision. You will work with prime electrical contractors and develop a positive interface with customers to ensure confidence in the installed system.

You will lay out and mount controls, assist with estimates, verify terminations, conduct tests, document work, and uphold safety policies.

Qualifications

• Electrical apprenticeship training and ability to read drawings.
• Knowledge of local electrical codes applicable to controls systems.
• Ability to work independently and determine installation needs.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Installs raceways, cables and wiring to meet codes and customer requirements.
• Mounts and terminates controls equipment as needed.
• Assists sales with electrical estimates for retrofit projects.
• Verifies termination points and tests wiring with instruments.
• Keeps management informed of job needs and progress.
• Completes time sheets, expense reports and site documentation.
• Adheres to Johnson Controls safety programs and policies.
