Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Hayward, CA is seeking a Controls Engineer within the Fleet Remediation Engineering team to design, specify, and implement BMS and EPMS controls for data center retrofit projects.

You will bridge mechanical/electrical retrofit design with controls integration. This role requires 4+ years in mission-critical engineering, a Bachelor's in Mechanical/Electrical/Controls, and hands-on experience with BMS/EPMS.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in engineering for mission-critical facilities.
• 2+ years with BMS/EPMS in data centers.
• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years equivalent experience.
• Experience with HVAC systems and electrical distribution.
• Ability to read and create control diagrams and submittals.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls design and integration for BMS/EPMS across retrofit projects.
• Develop and maintain controls design standards, specifications, and SOWs.
• Collaborate with FRE engineers, construction teams, and operations stakeholders to deliver integrated controls solutions.
• Serve as the central technical authority for BMS/EPMS within FRE.
• Perform controls design reviews and identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for optimization.
• Coordinate with controls vendors on bid reviews, RFIs, and code reviews.
• Develop and review control sequences of operation and network architectures for retrofit applications including HVAC upgrades.
