Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Hayward, CA, seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to lead BMS and EPMS design and implementation for data-center retrofit projects.

You will bridge mechanical and electrical retrofit design with controls integration, ensuring monitoring, control, and optimization across our fleet while collaborating with FRE and operations teams.

The role requires strong experience in building automation, data centers, and energy optimization, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities such as data centers or power facilities.
• 2+ years of experience with BMS/EPMS design and deployment.
• 2+ years of HVAC systems knowledge and control programming concepts.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create construction drawings and control diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls design and integration for mechanical and electrical retrofit projects across data center fleet.
• Develop and maintain controls design standards, specifications, and SOWs for retrofit projects.
• Collaborate with FRE engineers and operations to deliver integrated controls solutions.
• Serve as central technical authority for BMS/EPMS within FRE and manage scope across projects.
• Coordinate with vendors on bid reviews, RFI support, and control drawings.
