Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Columbus, OH seeks a Controls Design Engineer to establish and maintain BMS/EPMS design standards for AWS global infrastructure. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams on new builds, retrofits, and data center support projects, driving cost reductions through standardization.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in mission-critical engineering and strong knowledge of electrical/controls systems. This role requires travel and a commitment to safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers.
• 4+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
• Good understanding of electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations, control circuits, industrial HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain deep expertise in building operations, BMS/EPMS programming concepts, control diagrams, HVAC systems.
• Create, maintain, and disseminate specification documents and Basis of Design standards for global projects.
• Lead collaboration with construction teams, engineers, and project managers to accomplish goals.
• Coordinate with regional project managers to review and finalize project SOWs.
• Drive vendor selection, bid reviews, and RFI coordination.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed to manage projects.
