Job summary
Fortune Brands Innovations is seeking a skilled Controls Technician for our Mocksville, NC area to diagnose and repair complex automation systems and support a range of manufacturing equipment. You will troubleshoot PLC/HMI/servo/VFD networks, modify ladder logic, and apply engineering guidelines to improve performance.
The role involves electrical and controls troubleshooting, robotics support, installations, and ongoing optimization.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
- Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs, Siemens PLCs, HMI systems, Servo controls, VFDs and industrial networking.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex automation and control system failures.
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, servo, VFD, and motion control systems.
- Modify PLC and HMI programs under engineering guidelines.
- Perform advanced electrical and controls troubleshooting.
- Support robotic programming, maintenance, and optimization.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and automation projects.
- Analyze downtime events and implement corrective actions.
- Train operators and maintenance personnel on equipment operation.
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
- Must abide by all Larson/FBIN policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
