Job summary
Fortune Brands Innovations is seeking an Automation Technician in North Carolina to diagnose and repair complex automation and control system failures. You will troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, servo drives and motion control systems while supporting robotic programming, maintenance and optimization.
Responsibilities include assisting with installations and upgrades, analyzing downtime, training operators, and participating in continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in a related technical field is preferred.
- Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment (3–5 years).
- Proficiency with PLCs, HMIs, servo drives and networking in industrial settings.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex automation and control system failures.
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, servo, VFD, and motion control systems.
- Modify PLC and HMI programs under engineering guidelines.
- Perform advanced electrical and controls troubleshooting.
- Support robotic programming, maintenance, and optimization.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and automation projects.
- Analyze downtime events and implement corrective actions.
- Train operators and maintenance personnel on equipment operation.
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
- Must abide by all Larson/FBIN policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
