Job summary
Fortune Brands Innovations is seeking an Industrial Automation Technician to diagnose and repair complex automation and control system failures across manufacturing lines. You will troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, servo systems and VFDs, modify ladder logic under guidelines, and support robotics along with maintenance teams.
The role requires 3–5 years of experience with automated manufacturing equipment and an associate degree in a related field.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex automation and control system failures.
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, servo, VFD, and motion control systems.
- Modify PLC and HMI programs under engineering guidelines.
- Perform advanced electrical and controls troubleshooting.
- Support robotic programming, maintenance, and optimization.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and automation projects.
- Analyze downtime events and implement corrective actions.
- Train operators and maintenance personnel on equipment operation.
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
