LHH is seeking a Corporate Controller on behalf of a well-established, fast-growing organization backed by private equity and operating in a multi-entity, project-based environment. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced accounting leader who thrives in dynamic settings and brings a strong foundation in corporate accounting, team leadership, and system-driven process improvements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related functions.
- Oversee month-end close for both individual operating units and the consolidated group.
- Establish and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect company assets and ensure GAAP compliance.
- Support external reporting requirements, including coordination of annual financial audits and investor/banking deliverables.
- Provide ongoing financial analysis, reporting, and business insights to executive leadership.
- Track and report against KPIs, operating budgets, and performance metrics on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Develop and implement both short- and long-term financial and operational strategies in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Serve as a key business partner across departments to ensure financial processes support company-wide goals.
- Manage treasury functions, including 13-week cash forecasting, wire transfers, and bank account management.
- Oversee tax compliance, including corporate income tax, sales/use tax, and payroll tax reporting.
- Partner with the CFO and senior finance team on forecasts, board reporting, and other strategic finance initiatives.
- Act as backup to payroll processing and CFO on various ad hoc projects.
- Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team to ensure high performance and cross-functional collaboration.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; CPA is required. MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Extensive experience with percentage-of-completion accounting is required.
- Prior experience in public accounting (audit) is preferred.
- Experience working in a private equity-backed environment is highly desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Office 365 is required.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence executive decision-making.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
