Job summary

GSI in Florida (South FL or Remote) seeks a Controller to lead accounting, close, and financial reporting for a $100M D2C health brand. You will manage a finance team and partner with exec leadership on budgeting, cash flow, and growth initiatives.

The role requires strong controllership skills, experience with inventory and recurring revenue, and comfort scaling finance in a product-driven environment. Remote work possible.

Qualifications

• CPA or equivalent strongly preferred or equivalent experience.
• Progressive controllership experience with proven people leadership.
• Broad technical command of accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience with inventory businesses and recurring revenue models.
• Experience with ERP and ecommerce systems; scaling a finance team through growth.
• Familiarity with AI and automation tools in finance; AI savvy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of accountants, financial analysts and other finance professionals.
• Own month-end and year-end close, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger, AP, AR, payroll accounting, fixed assets and revenue recognition.
• Manage inventory accounting, including costing, reserves, physical counts and COGS.
• Oversee accounting for subscription revenue, including deferred revenue and recurring billing.
• Manage financial relationships with third-party manufacturers, including cost tracking and vendor reconciliation.
• Reconcile ecommerce platform and payment processor activity, including refunds and sales tax.
• Maintain internal controls and manage audit, tax and banking relationships.
• Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and working capital.
• Improve systems and processes to scale with growth, applying automation and AI tools to reporting and analysis.
