Job summary

The Chittenden Solid Waste District is seeking a Controller to oversee the finance department of a countywide municipal organization with an annual budget of $16 million. Qualifications

• Degree in accounting or finance; seven years of experience including three years of supervisory experience.
• Master’s degree and/or CPA; governmental accounting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and NetSuite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee finance department and financial operations for a countywide municipal organization.
• Maintain financial records, prepare annual budget, and manage computerized accounting system.
• Oversee financial controls, monitor expenditures and cash flow, payroll, receivables, and financial reporting; ensure compliance.
• Lead a three-person internal staff and support program managers in financial management.
