The Chittenden Solid Waste District is seeking a Controller to oversee the finance department of a countywide municipal organization with an annual budget of $16 million. The Controller is responsible for the accounting and financial operations of the District, including maintaining financial records, organizing, and preparing the annual budget, managing computerized accounting system, overseeing financial controls, monitoring expenditures and cash flow, payroll, receivables, financial reporting, and compliance.
The Controller will be a detail-oriented, hands-on and participative manager who leads and develops an internal staff of three and supports program managers to navigate financial management.
Degree in accounting or finance with seven years of experience, including three years of supervisory experience. Master’s degree and/or CPA and governmental accounting experience preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and NetSuite preferred.
