Job summary

Mile Two, a small government contracting firm in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking a seasoned Controller to own the accounting ecosystem and guide a dedicated team. You will work closely with the CFO and cross-functional leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with FAR/DFARS/CAS, and robust internal controls.

You will lead the monthly close, coordinate audits, advance automation and AI-driven process improvements, and mentor the team.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
• 7+ years GovCon accounting experience.
• Experience with CPFF contracts.
• Deep knowledge of FAR, DFARS, GAAP, and CAS.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and deliver accurate financial statements.
• Oversee audits, compliance, and tax-related processes.
• Lead Unanet configuration, reporting, and automation initiatives.
• Partner with directors across departments to align finance with company goals.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team while driving process improvements.
