Job summary

Confidential Jobs.(USA) in the Chicago area seeks a Controller to own the company’s accounting and financial operations as part of a private equity-backed growth plan. You will lead the monthly close, multi-entity consolidation, internal controls, and the Business Central migration, while cleaning up legacy reconciliations and stale accruals.

This is a builder role focused on technical judgment, controls, team development, and partnership with the CFO.

Qualifications

• Licensed CPA, active or inactive status accepted.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Deep technical command of GAAP and a real interest in the craft of accounting.
• Meticulous attention to detail and willingness to work hands-on through legacy issues.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Clear communication and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced PE-backed environment.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly close, multi-entity consolidation, and GAAP reporting.
• Lead external audits from planning through final report.
• Manage intercompany transactions and multi-entity consolidation.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
