Job summary

Jobot seeks an experienced Assistant Controller to join the accounting leadership in a government contracting environment. You will oversee general ledger and financial reporting, ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS/DCAA, and support audits and rate submissions.

This role partners with Contracts, Program Management and executive leadership to drive accuracy and compliance across the finance function. You will manage close processes, develop the accounting team, and enhance internal controls while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 7-10+ years progressive accounting experience.
• 4-6+ years accounting management experience.
• Strong ledger, month-end close and reporting skills.
• Government contracting experience preferred and cost/accounting know-how.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger operations including project and indirect cost accounting.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
• Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and schedules.
• Review statements for GAAP and government compliance.
• Analyze indirect rates; support provisional/final rate calculations.
• Prepare and support incurred cost submissions.
• Ensure FAR/DFARS/DCAA compliance and internal controls.
• Serve as accounting contact for audits.
• Review billing/payroll processes for accuracy and compliance.
• Identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain/enhance accounting policies and controls.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
• Partner with Contracts, Program Management and leadership.
