Job summary

Syntax Talent Solutions, LLC seeks a Controller to lead day-to-day accounting, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and optimize systems supporting a mission-driven organization.

You will oversee the general ledger, close processes, internal controls, and ERP administration, partnering with leadership to deliver insights and drive continuous improvement across the finance function. Mentorship of junior staff and strong cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• CPA certification is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting in a complex or multi-entity environment.
• GAAP-based financial reporting experience.
• Experience with cloud ERP systems (Sage Intacct preferred) and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Manage month, quarter, and year-end close processes with accurate statements.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard assets and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Prepare and review financial reports, analyses, and dashboards for leadership.
• Oversee ERP administration and optimize workflows for reporting.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Mentor and develop junior finance staff to build capability.
• Identify and drive process improvements across accounting operations.
