Job summary

Launch Ventures, a financial services group, is seeking a Controller to lead the international accounting team and optimize month-end close processes. The role focuses on building scalable controls and leveraging technology to improve accuracy and speed of financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will have substantial corporate accounting experience, CPA, and a strong background in capital markets, with the ability to partner across functions and manage audits and filings.

Qualifications

• 12-15+ years of corporate accounting experience, preferably in a regulated firm, broker-dealer, or bank.
• CPA is required.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting systems, controls and processes.
• Experience with capital markets is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close processes and oversee complex accounting activities across corporate areas.
• Develop and optimize cross-functional processes to drive efficiency and automation.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, internal controls, and financial analysis.

Job description

We are partnering with a financial services leader currently seeking a Controller for their rapidly growing international team. The ideal candidate will assist with leading the team to build and develop operational accounting and month-end close processes. The Controller will also play a critical role in managing and actively participating in the accounting cycle all while helping design new processes that leverage technology to drive efficiency as the Company innovates and scales.

Key Responsibilitie

• Manage and oversee complex accounting processes, accounting transactions, and account reconciliations for all corporate areas during the month-end accounting close cycle
• Build and grow cross-functional relationships to collaboratively work together to resolve month end issues and solve process efficiencies
• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the corporate accounting function, with a focus on process improvements, automation and analysis of the business results to support scale and growth
• Interface with trading operations team on daily activities and reconciliations
• Lead critical accounting projects, including being a subject matter expert for cross functional groups in areas such as consolidation and revenue recognition
• Interface with the Company’s external auditors & tax professionals on coordination of quarterly and annual audits & filings
• Support and develop continual improvement and implementation of internal controls throughout functional accounting processes
• Participate in special projects, analysis and reporting as required by management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required, accounting, economics or finance
• CPA required
• 12-15+ years corporate accounting experience; experience with a regulated firm, broker dealer or bank preferred
• Experience of capital markets strongly preferred
• Experience with a large ERP software (Netsuite a plus, Enfusion preferred)
• An understanding of financial reporting systems, procedures, and controls
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and prioritization capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management and work in a team-oriented environment
